DALLAS, TX – Thursday, volunteers from University of Arkansas and Kansas State helped out workers at Mission Arlington. Volunteers sorted toys and clothing.

The service project is part of an event series planned for the Cotton Bowl.

“I feel like college football has a very competitive spirit. It’s nice that we can join together with Kansas State and work alongside them and give back to the community,” said UA graduate Jared Morphew.

But the happiness won’t last long because both teams take the field Friday.

“It is nice to have the peace right now, but it might not be the same way tomorrow at 7,” said Kansas State student Carolyn Gatewood.
