PINE BLUFF, AR - It was a busy night for the Pine Bluff City Council on Monday, voting on several issues that could have greatly impacted their police department.

When it was all said and done, there was a lot of discussion but very little change. The amendment for all uniformed employees of Pine Bluff to submit random drug and alcohol testing passed. An amendment from Police Chief Brenda Davis-Jones pushing for uniform amendments and regular inspections did not pass, as well as proposed changes to the police department’s procedure manual.

The other item of particular interest that came up at Monday’s city council meeting also failed.
Amending an ordinance regarding the review committee dealing with suspensions, demotions, and dismissal of firefighters and police officers.

City Council members told Fox 16 that they hope to send a strong message to Chief Davis-Jones that they want to stick to the current policies in place.

should be every government official and school teachers and politicians. if you are not on drugs it shouldnt bother you to take a test, i mean you were gonna piss any way im sure you do it every day. so whats wrong with randomly pissing in a cup. it is not an inconvienience and it is not embarrassing unless you are guilty of something. so many politicians are running around with cocaine in their system but then they sentence a man to 50 years for selling it.if you wont take a drug test you shouldnt be able to make, enforce or ammend any law in this country. if you cannot pass a drug test you should not be in a position to judge someone who is on drugs. how many judges in arkansas would piss dirty today if they were called to do it? idk but im sure it wouldnt be 100% negative results. same goes for the police and teachers and lawmakers. i seriously doubt it would be 100%
