LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Johnny Warnshuis made a stop in Little Rock today while riding his horse to New York City.

Warnshuis is raising awareness for Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

"It's something that hit close to home with my mother when she became ill with it. It took months to diagnose her," said Warnshuis.

GBS is an inflammatory disorder of the peripheral nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. It is also known as Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy. There is not an exact cause of the sickness and treatments vary.

Warnshius says he has gotten a lot of help from people across the country. He's even gotten a lot of support from the horsing community.

Kimberleigh Waters lives in Mayflower and is providing him a little company and shelter on his ride through Arkansas.

"We'll try to help him as much as we can along the way," said Waters.
