HACKETT, Ark. (AP) — Authorities are searching Sugarloaf Lake in Sebastian County after a 911 caller reported a man had fallen in the lake and not resurfaced.

The sheriff's office says several witnesses saw the man fall out of a canoe and into the water at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses told deputies that the man bobbed up several times but eventually went under and did not resurface.

The sheriff's office identified the man as Charles "Buddy" Reed.

Authorities searched the lake Tuesday night but suspended the search at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. The search resumes Wednesday morning.
