Dash cam footage: Conway County patrol cars rammed

CONWAY COUNTY, AR - A collision almost killed two Conway County deputies responding to a domestic disturbance call in Springfield.

According to a sheriff's office incident report, William Stain rammed two patrol cars with his Honda Civic Sunday. Neither Stain nor the two deputies driving the patrol cars, Rick Emerson and Monte Williams, were seriously injured. Emerson's leg was badly bruised in the collision.

Emerson says he and Williams saw Stain before he drove into their patrol cars, and the collision caught him off-guard. "We're thinking he's gonna come to the gate and confront us verbally," said Emerson. That's not what happened.

According to the incident report, Stain reversed after driving into the patrol cars and attempted to drive away from the deputies for several miles, but eventually pulled over and was arrested.

"Never had anything quite like that happen before," Emerson said. "I hope it does not happen again."

Stain was still in jail as of Tuesday evening on a $250,000 bond. His charges include two counts of aggravated assault, fleeing, and domestic battery.
