my understanding of the age bracket - from friends on other forces - is a mental/emotional/physical maturity, as well as a return-on-investment. they carry a lot of gear, and need to be strong enough to not be taken advantage of when making arrests. they also need to be fit enough to pass the academy PT tests

hire some more young guys to wreck squad cars...or hire somebody with some seasoning...na you idiots will go for the young when there's a LOT of Veterans out there...that would love this job and do a better job than the piss poor quaility people youv'e got now...hire a vet...the training won't take very long...you could shorten the training from 6 month's to 3...and have trustworthy officer's with a lot of experience as soon as they hit the streets...plus Obama signed a bill that anyone that employ's a vet that been out of work for 6 months gets a tax break...one more time for those of you who still aint got the point...hire a vet...don't raise a kid...ya gotta texch these kids right from wrong...you won't with a vet
