TRUMANN, Ark. (AP) — Fire investigators believe a blaze that killed a 13-month-old boy and injured three others began in a mattress at a residence in Trumann.

Toddler Blake Pierce died from smoke inhalation caused by last week's fire. His twin brother, Drake, 3-year-old brother, Robert (Bubba), and a 17-year-old babysitter were injured.

Officials say the fire began in a bedroom adjacent to where the two 13-month-old boys were sleeping. Investigators haven't released how the fire started.

When crews arrived at the residence last Friday, a neighbor already had broken a window of the home and was trying to revive one of the children. Their parents weren't home at the time.

The boys and the babysitter, whose name wasn't released, remain hospitalized on Wednesday.

An investigation into the blaze continues.
