LITTLE ROCK, AR-- Featuring UAPB and Langston University, War Memorial Stadium hosted the Delta Classic for Literacy.
The football game caps off a week of events designed to improve literacy needs in the Delta region of the South and raise money for much needed programs to enhance reading.
"It's very important that children incorporate that into their daily routine. Eventually, they will become accustomed to it and they will do it forever," said Lynette Lemons of Savvy Kids Learning Center
Vendors set up booths outside the gates to let people know what services are around.
"A lot of individuals that can't read become perfectionists in hiding it," said Daric Washington of Little Rock Enrichment Center
