PERRY COUNTY, AR – Three people are charged with capital murder in the death of Donna Young, including her own stepson.

Perry County investigators combed the hills near Young’s Houston home, looking for the woman who had been missing since Tuesday. Friday morning, they found her body.

Nicholas Saunders, Melissa Ward, and Dale Young have been arrested in connection to her death. Dale is both Donna’s stepson and son-in-law. Donna married Dale’s father, then later Dale married Donna’s daughter Tammi.

“She’s raised him for 20-something years,” said Neal Berberich, Donna Young’s son. “Everybody has their ups and downs, but she’s always treated him like one of us.”

Berberich is now trying to pick up the pieces of his broken and confused family.

"It's just hard to believe," he said. "It's hard to imagine that he could actually do something - be capable of doing something like that."

Berberich says the three loaded his mother in the back of a truck before hiding her body in the woods.

"They didn't even get off the road that she barely lives on and just backed their truck up to the side of the cliff and dumped her out like she was trash."

The Sheriff says the suspects have confessed to portions of the crime but the investigation into Donna Young's murder is far from over.

"Both of them are pointing fingers at the other one and we've not come up with a motive yet," said Perry County Sheriff Scott Montgomery.

Dale Young's wife, the victim's daughter, was also questioned but the polygraph was inconclusive. The sheriff doesn't believe there are any more suspects in the crime.

Guard I do not live in Houston. I do live close by. I work 40 plus hours a week at I job I have because of an earned degree. At a Major University. Educated or not...you are an idiot. I'm just saying. Sorry for the family and the disrespect of the ignorant.

Butch is right. It is a sad story. And he is correct about small places in AR that are out in the country. Beautiful places, great people for the most part. But there are bad seeds everywhere; city or country. Always been that way, always will be. We just have to live with it, and do the best we can. I just hope the courts do Donna Young right; hang all three of 'em.

Sad story. As for Houston AR. seems like a nice country setting to retire in. I don't think it holds the controlling interest in lazy or stupid. I know some hard working people there. It has it's share of the others too. No more or less then others. Stupidity started in a home. Some should check their own.

Looks like someone's had a lot of sitting around time, not working a real job? Houston, Ar. is a great place to just sit around and wait for the mail-man to bring a check from the State.

Don't worry itsjustme, some day, we don't know when, but my Bible says Jesus is coming back, and he's going to be the one doing the firing! The "gods" in DC and elsewhere will be looking into a place they don't wan to go. Has everyone seen the slideshow? Three "outstanding" citizens to be sure. Like the old saying goes - A picture is worth a thousand words!

Arkansasyankee, Im glad you said that about murder geing around since a couple of Adam's boys got into it. Back then, how did they deal with murderers? Exactly. LOL. If punishing criminals was good enough during the biblical times, it should still stand today. But oh no, the governement has basically fired God and taken over.

itsjustme; murder has been around since a couple of Adam's boys got into it. I had posted I was hoping for a good ending to this story; now the only good ending will be the perps going to the pen for the rest of their lives. And I'm curious as to why "family" members are in custody. Please don't tell me her own family murdered her!
