Deputy Not Guilty in Case Involving Autistic Child

Jon Lane was found not guilty in a bench trial in Clark County District Court.

GARLAND COUNTY, AR - Jon Lane has been found not guilty of physically abusing an autistic child.

The Garland County Deputy went before a judge in a bench trial in Clark County District Court.

In early May, the child's mother accused Lane of bruising the child while disciplining him.

Lane pleaded not guilty in court and had been suspended from the sheriff's office.

A special judge was appointed after Garland County authorities recused themselves.

The Garland County Sheriff's Office says Lane plans to return to work as soon as he can.
