JONESBORO, AR – University Hall and the International Student Center on the campus of Arkansas State University were evacuated Tuesday afternoon due to a bomb threat.

Carlon Walker, 44, of Jonesboro was arrested by University Police for allegedly making the bomb threat to University Hall. ASU says Walker is not a student.

University Hall, a women’s dorm for nearly 400 students, was evacuated at 3:05pm. Because of its proximity, the International Student Center was also evacuated.

The police, with the assistance of a bomb detecting dog, searched University Hall. At 5:37pm students were cleared to come back into the dorm. No evidence of a bomb was found during the search.

Walker is charged with breaking or entering, attempted theft of a motor vehicle, communicating a false alarm, and criminal trespass.
