So sick of "save the planet" bs...they want to save everything except souls; and that's what REALLY matters.

Burning fossil fuels, including gas, is causing climate change and destroying our planets atmosphere. We should be developing clean and renewable energy sources rather than wasting our time with another carbon based nail for the coffin. If the drilling did not pose a threat to air and water, how come the gas industry refuses to comply with the clean air act, the clean water act and safe drinking water act? We need EPA to step in to protect regular citizens from the harmful effects of industry, regardless of the source. Arkansas residents are right to be concerned and involved in protecting our air and water, because without that protection, we're just another banana plantation for multinational corporations to exploit. Folks who rail against EPA should move to a country like Nigeria where such agencies don't exist and where neither the air nor the water are fit to support life.

Lets turn off all the lights, unplug our cars, take cold showers, freeze our canonizes off on those cold nights, especially in the winter months, send our money for energy over seas and become a third world country while sit back and watching the trees grow... or use our natural resources to overt all the above... ummm I can see holding the gas companies responsible for cleaning up their mess however the smart play would find a continuum to the drilling and acquisition of more natural gas.

All about tree huggers and bureacrats wanting more EPA regulations, we are regulated too much from gov., how to build cars what type pf light bulbs to use, can't smoke in your auto, where seat belts, no smoking in restaurants, no smokinig within "X" distance from public outhouse, it goes on and on and on some of you won't be happy tell the gove tells you tdo use only one piece t-paper..

Does anyone really believe this is about Arkansas? Hendrix college is a liberal university with the same motivations as the rest. I bet there is a driving force behind this "protest" from outside the state.

Good for the people of Arkansas. It is starting and the rest of the USA needs to follow. Ask questions and if you can not get answers get them out of office.

In the past 10 years Southwestern Energy has drilled 5 natural gas wells on my property and they would be welcome to come back and drill 5 more anytime they so desired. I have experienced no problems with them because they have always done exactly what they said they would do and I would have to dream a big wild dream in order to come up with some of the problems that I am reading about. These problems just did not happen on my farm with Southwestern Energy. They were and are a good "neighbor".
