BEEBE, AR – A traffic stop in Beebe Saturday yielded more than 8 pounds of marijuana and nearly $30,000 in cash.
The Central Arkansas Drug Task Force assisted the Beebe Police Department in the stop and subsequent arrests of Robert Sullins and McKinley Rickett. The drug task force estimates that the 8.2 pound of pot to be valued at $8,200.
Sullins, of Lonoke, and Rickett, of Searcy, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver. Sullins has a bond of $25,000; Rickett has a bond of $5,000.
A search of the car originally found only $11,434. On Monday, police learned about a secret compartment in the car driven by Sullins and Rickett. They searched it again, yielding an additional $18,479, brining the grand total of money seized to $29,913.
