NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - All three suspects in the murder of an e-z mart clerk pleaded not guilty in court today. A judge ordered the men held in jail with no bond for the murder of Akiya Egeston.
Today the mother of the admitted shooter is speaking out with an apology for her son's actions.
After North Little Rock district judge Jim Hamilton removed cameras from the courtroom, he allowed the accused killers to talk back and forth with their family members via closed circuit television.
Much of what the mother of Jacobi Robinson, the man police say pulled the trigger, told her son, she shared with FOX16 too.
Maclin Rogers, Jacobi Robinson and Davian Howard appear via closed circuit television for their first court appearance for the murder of EZ Mart clerk Akiya Egeston.
A crime the 20-year old Robinson confessed to with a FOX16 camera rolling after his arrest Friday.
"I just want to say I'm sorry to the family and I didn't mean to kill that lady, that's all I wanted to say," Robinson says.
An apology Egeston's mother Maria Currie watched but didn't accept.
"He's saying he's sorry and he apologized to the family and he had no reason to do it because they didn't get nothing, it wasn't worth it because they didn't get anything," Currie says.
On Tuesdsy, Robinson's mother Elendra King supported her son Jacobi in court while the three suspected pleaded not guilty. In a short, but emotional hearing the judge ordered the three held without bond.
"It's not just hurt me with my son, it's hurting me for the young lady that lost her life also,” King says. “I'm grieving for my son and I'm grieving for her because I know it should have never happened."
All three men are expected back in district court November 14th.
