EL DORADO, AR- 32-year-old Edwin Ross of El Dorado has been sentenced for being a felon in possession of a firearm, drug trafficking and the use of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Ross received a ten year sentence with four years of supervised release.
Ross had been convicted of selling over six grams of marijuana to a confidential informant with the El Dorado police department on June 6th of last year.
A month later, authorities searched Ross' residence and found cash, bullets, drug paraphernalia, a handgun and two rifles.
One rifle had a defaced serial number.
Ross had previous convictions.
United States Attorney Conner Eldridge stated, “We remain committed to investigating and prosecuting felons in possession of firearms, especially when such firearms are used in furtherance of another crime.
We must do all we can to keep our communities safe from violence, drug trafficking, and other criminal activity.”
