England Sonic robbed at gunpoint, no money stolen

ENGLAND, AR - The England Police Department says a Sonic restaurant was robbed Friday night, but the bank bag that the suspects stole did not contain any money.

Police responded to the robbery at the Sonic Drive In at 1003 E. Fordyce St. around 9:47pm. Police say two men entered the store, the first suspect pointed a small handgun at two employees and ordered them into the freezer area. The second suspect went directly to the office and safe area and took a white bank bag.

According to police the bank bag did not contain any money.

As officers were arriving, the suspects ran out the back door. Police say they jumped the fence behind the store and got into a black Chevy Impala driven by a third man.
