TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) — A former Tyson Foods worker accused of making a bomb threat last year so he could spend more time with a female friend has been sentenced to time served.

Harvey Harper will be supervised by probation officials for a year after being sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Harry Barnes, according to the Texarkana Gazette.

Harper worked at Tyson's Nashville chicken plant, but the poultry producer fired the 30-year-old after the January 2011 threat. The FBI said it identified Harper by calling the number from which the threat was made and investigators said Harper told them he wanted to stay home with a woman.

Harper was released on bond in November.

Proceedings were delayed amid questions about Harper's mental health. The Bureau of Prisons concluded he was competent.
