Exxon Set to Halt Temporary Housing Funds for Oil Spill Victims

Families in all but five of the evacuated homes have been cleared by government inspectors to return.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- ExxonMobil will soon stop paying for temporary housing for some people affected by the Mayflower oil spill.

The rupturing of the Pegasus Pipeline on March 29 leaked thousands of barrels of oil into the neighborhood and forced residents of the Northwoods subdivision to evacuate.

Families in all but five of the evacuated homes have been cleared by government inspectors to return.

After wavering on previous statements that temporary housing payments would end, Exxon says it will end the program for 11 homeowners in 30 days.
