BRYANT, AR - For coach Jason Hay, it’s hard to put into words how he'll remember Logan Parker.

"It's so surreal, you don’t think it can happen to a kid you watched grow up," Hay said.

According to State Police, Parker attempted to cross Interstate 630 just east of Chester on foot. He was struck by three vehicles.

Parker was a stand out athlete at Bryant, helping the Hornets win a conference title in 2007. Hay, who coached Parker since 8th grade says that’s pretty good for a kid born with a heart condition

"It was a miracle that he was even born, that he made it,” Hay said. “He was always having to get heart checkups. There were times when we didn't know he would be able to play."

While answers are hard to come by now, Hay remembers the young man he watched grow up.

"I think I'll remember him just as Logan, just walking in the field house with his helmet in his hand, smiling, ready to go to work," Hay said.

well I didn't mean to hurt anyone by speculating what may have caused the accident to happen..there's quite a few bars in the area so it just got me wondering, that's all...I left a comment on an earlier post about this incident and sent my heartfelt condolences to the family of Logan...it was NOT a vicious attack, didn't mean it that way...again, my heart goes out to the young man and his family..IF I was able to delete my comment I would, seeing how it was taken out of context.

A lot of mean people must love the anonymous aspect of the internet. What kind of vicious person attacts a young man who was killed in an accident? My mother told me, when I was growing up, that if you can't say something good about someone keep quiet. A shame that @wpsarks' mom didn't instill that in him.

@WPSARK you should be ashamed of yourself. What you said is very inappropriate. You should think about things before you say or write them. If you have thoughts like that you should keep them to yourself. Whether he was or wsn't drinking that doesn't change how amazing of a person he was and the fact that this family lost a very special and amazing person. Out of respect for them you really shouldn't have said that, you are very disrespectful.

@WPSArk - This young man was a relative of mine. I think your comment was tacky. We don't know everything yet, but even if Logan was drinking, he was young and didn't deserve this. Nor does he deserve a comment like yours.

I drove by right after it happened, and out of respect I won't go into details. But my heart and prayers go out to his family.

I am not going to give details, but me and my husband drove past the scene of this tragic accident just minutes after it happened and it was a terrible thing to have to see! I will never be the same!

This is just tragic, I didn't have the oppurtunity to get to know Logan but i've heard nothing but good about this young man.. I too graduated from Bryant a long time ago.. It breaks my heart that this man's life was taken so suddenly and in such a horrific way.. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Logan's and to the Bryant community as we all mourn the loss of a life gone way too soon.. May he rest in peace in the arms of our Lord, and may the Lord lift this family up and help heal the hurt

What in the world happened to make him try to cross 630??? That interstate is deadly if your in a CAR, let alone on foot. What a horrible, sad thing to happen to anyone. Keeping his family and friends in my prayers.
