LITTLE ROCK, AR – The family of Michael Daniel, who was shot to death by a Little Rock Police Department detective, has retained legal services.

A spokesperson for the Daniel family says attorney Bridgette Frazier will “make sure that his death does not get swept under the rug, and that justice is served.”

In a statement, the family said it is troubling when officers maim and/or execute alleged non-violent offenders. The family notes that recent officer involved shootings in central Arkansas all involved African-American men.

Police say Daniel was a suspect in a robbery. According to the police report, Daniel originally ran away from detectives, feigned surrender, and then lunged at one, trying to take away his gun. The detective was injured in his fight with Daniel, according to police.

Police say Daniel’s criminal history includes several counts of breaking and entering, theft of property, possession of an instrument of crime, and theft by receiving.

U are right. U are right to have your opinion. My dad would feel the same way. He can't stand evil criminals. I hate the crime they do and think they deserve to be punish but I am never happy about death. I know that one might say....well...he was shot before he could kill again. Yes. That might be true. It's still never a happy thing for me. You see because everyone has somebody that loves them. I said before and I'll say it again...I have some of the meanest relatives. They deserve to be in prison. They get away with trashy stuff all the time. Although they are even evil to me, I would be devestated if they were killed. However...They should be sent to prison...

Sthrnrsh, tell it like it is my friend, tell it like it is. And itmejudyj, you have your right to be against me for my thoughts on ridding the world of pieces of shat like this, Im fine with that. If they had a mass execution tonight within the prison system, I'd be there with party favorites. Some would say its celebrating death, and it may be. But its more of a celebration that my tax dollars are not going to be wasted on these pieces of trash any longer. A win win if you would.

Sthrnrsh: Great post. I'm with you, call me anything but late for supper. Looks like you've made two new "friends" now! I don't care if they are green, purple, or whatever; if they are stealing from honest folk, and die in the process, I reckon God will take care of it from there. To the family of the perp that was killed - you should be more worried about where he went from here instead of trying to make a buck.

Opinionated.......such a hypocrite. Just as sad as onlygodcanjudgeme's radical rants and racial slurs. You two are the type of people that spread racial tension. And for the record, I'm not white. So call me a redneck or skinhead. It doesn't apply to me and I don't get riled up over a few names. I love te fact your pissed. Keep it coming; let me know how you guys really feel. In the mean time ill get you an ice pack and some bandages for your injured egos.

Who says anything about race? I have some evil criminals in my family. I would ask for investigation but would not charge a law enforcement officer if he felt his life or others lives were threatened.

opinionated, I do celebrate the death of a dead beat thief that threatens another persons life. And I dont give a flying f what color they are. I am sick and f'ing tired of the g'damn criminals getting treated as if they are a victim. I dont care if they have to sleep 15 in a cell, prison overcrowding shouldnt be an issue. If they dont like the conditions, stay the f out of trouble, get a job and live a righteous life. These criminals have a choice, it should lie on the tax payers to foot the bill because they are stupid enough to commit a crime.

I agree. I think the family deserves answers, deserves,an investigation. I'm praying for his family. I just want to say. I don't think this officer ever believied he would have to shoot somebody. I'm sure it bothers him so very much. It's gonna probably bother him the rest of his life. Very sad!!

I think its sad when a law enforcement officer is charged criminally when trying to do his job, trying to protect and serve others. Yes...Sometimes an officer has to use excessive force. People...Wake Up....For every Event. You have a Response. The response determines the Outcome!!
