CONWAY, AR – 24 year old Joshua David Westenhover was arrested just one day after the arrest of his father. Both are accused of theft by receiving.

Faulkner County Prosecuting Attorney Cody Hiland confirms the 24 year old was arrested Friday. Captain Matt Rice with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office says Joshua Westerhoven was arrested in Searcy County around 10:00pm Friday, and transferred to Faulkner County around 11:30pm. He is being held without bond in the Faulkner County Jail until his first court appearance, Monday.

Westenhover’s father, 49 year old David Foy Westenhover was arrested Thursday accused of theft by receiving and other charges in connection with the same case. He is free on $6,000.00 bond.

The 49 year old Westenhover is the Superintendent of Guy Perkins School District. He is on paid administrative leave but has told the school board he will resign at the end of the school year.

The school district announced an interim superintendent to replace Westenhover with a permanent replacement expected to be announced later.

First, anyone who works for a school in any capacity, who gets involved in crimes involving guns after all the recent news should get a stiffer sentence. Any crime involving guns should have a very stiff penalty with no parole possible. Law abiding gun owners should not have to suffer as a result of criminal activity. Secondly this man, by helping his son, was placing him in mortal danger and others as well. People have a way of getting killed or injured in crime involving firearms. People who buy stolen guns aren't likely to be buying them for legal purposes either. Third, if daddy is going to get him out of trouble every time, when is he really going to straighten up?

Butch, I ain't posted on here before, but your eyes must be a very dark brown. You are not rehabed. You have no respect for the law or authority. You defend ever crook on here like there you're closest family. You always assume every cop is wrong every time. You say that you would break the law to help a thieving kid. What a fine example that would be. And how will you ever be able your kid when he gets out of prison? You whine constantly about any POS who gets caught or the people who judge those crooks by what they did. Get a midol and a fresh pad and deal with it.

It's not what he did in the past that bothers me. It's the accusations he's facing now. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it reported he was in possession of a stolen gun? I don't like thieves. As for yourself; you give a great testimonial, and it's clear to us that you have turned your life around. Not everyone does. On another note; some professions require a clean background. Cops, doctors, nurses, etc. This should include those that take care of our children while at school also. Just one opinion.

With his superintendent credentials you would think he had better sense. Now he has ruined his life and his sons'. I have some great grandchildren who have dads they are better off without, but it is so sad that they CRAVE their attention.

The first time the talked to him they wanted the son. He probably was like most parents including me. Doing what he thought would protect his child. I don't think they liked the way he acted and decided to show him their power trip. It happens here. Yes he was convicted in the 80's is the story. 87 I think is what I heard. You want to kick a man with 25 years of living a productive life after the fact. I heard all my life after a man did his time he had paid his debt. Not here. You always whine rehab isn't working. Why try to work it if your still treated with no respect. What that means is I could give a flying ---- about being rehabilitated. I'll do what I want you stay out of my way. Most of you call yourself good Christians. I read that and your forgiving qualities in your post. Don't talk it act it. Something most Christians are ignorant about.
