FAULKNER COUNTY, AR - The Faulkner County office of emergency management says residents in Greenbrier and near the Liberty community had to evacuate Wednesday as a result of rising flood waters.

The Faulkner County OEM says four homes on Dee Lane resulted in approximately ten residents being moved to higher ground around 3:30am on Wednesday.

As heavy rain increased, a series of duplex homes in Greenbrier also began taking on water.

Shelby Teas told FOX16 News she woke up in the middle of the night to water in her living room.

"I was really shocked, I couldn't believe it," Teas says.  "We all gathered up what we could, put items up on shelves and then got out of there and went to a motel."

Teas spent the day Wednesday with family using fans to try and dry out the carpet in her home.  However she believes it will most likely need replacing.
