FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A federal appeals court will hear oral arguments in the case of a doctor who was convicted in a 2009 bombing that nearly killed the head of the Arkansas State Medical Board.

The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is expected to hear arguments in Randeep Mann's appeal on Wednesday at the University of Arkansas law school in Fayetteville.

Mann, who was sentenced to life in prison last year, wants the court to dismiss his convictions or at least grant him a new trial.

His lawyers argue there was insufficient evidence to convict him.

Prosecutors say Mann was responsible for a bomb left outside Dr. Trent Pierce's home in West Memphis. Pierce said he believes the attack was revenge for revoking Mann's license to prescribe narcotics.

They need to keep this Muslim Madman behind bars, he was nothing more than a pill pusher with an education equivilant to our RN's here in the states. This was an open and shut case with tons of evidence, no need to waste the money to go back to court.
