Fire claims life of White Co. couple

BALD KNOB, AR - The remains of a man and woman were found inside a camper that had caught fire Monday morning.

White County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 255 Old Russell Road, outside of Bald Knob, to the scene of a fire that the Bald Knob Fire Department had extinguished earlier in the morning. When deputies arrived they found a fifth-wheel camper trailer that had caught fire.

Deputies also discovered the remains of two bodies believed to be 46-year-old Chris Allen Watson and 57-year-old Pearl Kay Watson.

The bodies were sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for positive identification. Foul Play is not suspected, but will not be ruled out completely until the Medical Examiner’s report is finished.
