FOX16 is proud to bring you “First Fireworks in the Rock” at Dickey-Stephens Park following the Travs game. Tuesday night, families made sure they got the best seats in the house.

It's one of the only shows you can see in central Arkansas this year that hasn’t been cancelled because of the dry weather. It’s a bonus. A free family-friendly show after the game.

“When are the fireworks gonna start?” asked one child.

The Cameron family, and friends, grab seats on the hill to watch the Travs and wait for the fireworks.

“We decided to enjoy the hot weather, and we heard there’s gonna be fireworks after the game and with the limited ability of fireworks this Fourth of July weekend, we just decided to come out to the park to enjoy them,” says father Chris Cameron.

Seeing his sons celebrate the Fourth with baseball and fireworks brings back boyhood memories for Cameron.

“When I was a kid, I remember growing up, and it was a highlight of the Fourth of July holiday was that we get to see fireworks, and I want my boys to experience the same thing,” says Cameron.

“I like hearing loud noises, and bright colors,” says Cameron's son, Hunter.

“Do you think that some of your friends might be afraid of the fireworks later?” asked FOX16's Kelly Dudzik.

“No,” replied Hunter.
