SALINE COUNTY, AR - Former Benton First Baptist Church minister David Pierce, who pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual indecency with a child in 2009, will be released on parole.

Rhonda Sharp of the Arkansas Parole Board tells FOX16 that Pierce has been granted parole outside the state of Arkansas and must now move to a different state, where he will have to undergo sex offender evaluation and be classified within that state. Should Pierce ever decide to return to Arkansas, he will not be allowed to live within 50 miles of Saline County. Any contact with the victims or the families of the victims is forbidden.

FOX16 will have more information on this story as it becomes available.

SNAP responds to release of David Pierce

From the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests: "We've very worried that this convicted serial child predator is being released so quickly and will soon again be around unsuspecting families.

At one time, Pierce faced 54 counts of sexual indecency. His board at First Baptist kept him on the job for 3 months after he admitting abusing. That tells us he's a charismatic guy - precisely the most dangerous kind of child predator.

We desperately hope that every person who has any information or suspicions about Pierce's crimes will find the courage and strength to speak up, call police, expose wrongdoing, protect kids and start healing."

The good people of Saline County did not want David Pierce walking or driving around Benton where the congregation would be reminded of how they covered his perverted activities for many years. So they give him a ruler and send im out of state

Perhaps its time the citizens knew who was on the parole board. They've decided that the children in other states don't deserve protection from this predator. This is an insult to every victim of this guy. He was allowed to plea bargain down to reduced number of charges, given a light sentence, and then doesn't have to serve what little bit time they did give him. WHY? Why are any sex offenders allowed to be elgible for parole? Regardless, each member of the parole board should have to tell the public why they think he should be allowed to be free. Maybe public scrutiny or some semblance of shame would make them a little more considerate. Maybe the parolees should have to live in the neighborhoods of the parole board.
