PARIS, Ark. (AP) — Authorities say a Fort Smith man has drowned in Cove Lake in western Arkansas.

Fort Smith television station KHBS reports that 26-year-old Ernesto Patino drowned Thursday at the lake near Mount Magazine. Patino's friends told authorities that Patino had been complaining of leg cramps just before he went under.

Authorities say Patino drowned in about seven feet of water.

Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor.
