Emergency teams work the scene of a deadly Perry County plane crash as families and friends grieve the loss of Oklahoma State Women's Basketball Coach Kurt Budke and his assistant, Miranda Serna.

"We just finished talking with her and spending time with her and all of the sudden it's gone," said Tracy Scaife. His daughter, Tyler, is one of the high school players the coaches were flying to Little Rock to scout.

"I don't think there's anything that can be said that will help comfort anyone," said UCA Women's Basketball Coach Matt Daniel. He's a friend and colleague of the two coaches.

Budke and Serna were on their way to Little Rock to scout three high school players including Hall High School Junior Tyler Scaife.

Coach Daniel says this accident leaves a dark cloud over the entire basketball world.

"Kurt was a presence when he walked in the gym," he said. "He was a big guy. He always had on the bright orange - the OSU colors. He'd stand out in any gym."

"We just love Miranda and Coach Budke to death," said Scaife. "We love them. We really do."

A memorial service for the two coaches is scheduled on the OSU campus Monday at 1:00pm.
