Country Chic, no this 14 year old shouldn't have died for stealing. Did you really suggest that whatever this kid was going through justified his actions? Did you really suggest your oldest brother stealing to feed his 7 younger siblings was ok? No he shouldn't have been killed but you really think his actions were justified? What about the people he stole from? What food, rent or whatever bill could they not pay or what else could they not provide for THEIR families? They were the ones working for the money. I am glad he became a well educated asset to society, but don't try to justify stealing for whatever reason.

I have seen a Little Rock cop laugh in a mugged woman's face when she asked him to check her house for the man who had her driver's license and door keys. I have seen cops refuse to take shoplifting reports. I have seen cops refuse to arrest parolees after assaulting teachers in front of witnesses, twice. I know rape victims who were told by cops why it would hurt them more to report the rape than it would hurt the rapist. People have given up on the legal system. The alternative now has us all at risk if we are mistaken for criminals.

Mr Sadler should receive an award for saving honest working folks from being robbed or murdered.

@nonsense2010: You are exactly right! I am not god; I exist. P.S. Thanks for the "caps lock". It really helps convey your message and doesn't make you come across as a 15 y/o girl in even the slightest bit.

if the thug kid had been in school and not out trying to steal a mans money, none of this would of happened. Let the man go ....he was just trying to get his money back, i would of done the same thing.

"These ghetto thugs need to know this is the consequence of stealing and the days of self entitlement are over." Did you really say that? Did you know this kid? If not, you have no idea he was a "ghetto thug." It doesn't matter what people think, but stealing money SHOULD NOT equal death. You guys that are saying that it is, are plain out EVIL!!! Noone knows what this kid was going through or anything. People have stolen from me numerous of times, but I don't kill. Maybe that person needed it more than I did. My eldest brother had to steal, when I was a kid, to feed his 7 younger brother and sisters. Now should he have died? Nope, where would we be if someone would have killed him? He has recently graduated with his masters in addicted studies and trying to help others. So people, please wake up and realize what's wrong with world today is YOU!!!! Death is not the answer to everything!!!

Does being a child permit one to commit a crime Byronsmomma? If someone is 14, is it o.k. for them to be robbing people and stealing? THAT is no more right than the man running him down. It was wrong for the boy to steal the wallet just as much as it is wrong that the man ran him down. Two wrongs dont make a right.

I'M THINKING THE LEAVE A COMMENT SECTION IS MORE SO FOR THE PEOPLE WHO FEEL THE NEED TO SAY SOME ENCOURAGING THINGS...SOME PEOPLE CAN BE SO STUCK ON STUPIDITY TO WERE THEY OVER LOOK THE MORAL OF THE STORY.. I JUST PRAY FOR BOTH FAMILIES. WE ARE NOT GOD AND CAN NOT JUDGE THESE PEOPLE. SO ALL THE MEAN AND DISRESPECTFUL COMMENTS ARE JUST SHOWING HOW BAD THE WORLD WE LIVE IN REALLY IS... ALL I CAN SAY IS PUT YOURSELF IN BOTH OF THOSE PEOPLE'S SHOES AND MAYBE YOU ALL WOULDN'T SAY SOME OF THE THINGS!!!
