LITTLE ROCK, AR-- With friends and family at his side, Michael Stanley's casket is guided into Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church. Saturday afternoon, funeral services were held for the teen who died last week.

The 14-year-old was killed after police say 58-year-old Michael Sadler ran over him in his minivan May 3rd on Oak Street.

Stanley's aunt, Rachelle Molden, says the family is gradually finding comfort.

"We've been spending a lot of time at the site where it happened. So we are getting a lot of solace being that's where Michael took his last breath," said Molden.

Stanley went to school in North Little Rock and was the youngest of seven kids, which his friends and family say reminds them of his very short life.

Friends say they do have inner peace.

"He's gone to where I am trying to get, which is heaven," said Molden.

backinaction, I said "one bad decision lead to tragedy" in reference to what lead to the chain of events, not one single event in that chain...both "Michaels" were wrong, absolutely! What I will say is that what is stated in the news in not completely accurate; he did not die 10 blocks away but rather maybe 50 ft at most and that there was no wallet or money on my little cousin...(*hint* Michael did not steal the man's wallet)...was he, his friend and the man involved in activities that shouldn't have been taken place? Absolutely! Michael was trying to get away and it was NOT from trying to rob this man...RIP

Objectivity81, I am very grateful that my children are still alive and with me, but I am also grateful that none of them are thieves. You said "one bad decision can lead to tragedy" when in fact it was more than one bad decision that led to this. Bad decision one was when the guy flashed his money, the second came when the kid decided to steal it and the final bad decision came when the guy killed the kid. It is not all the blame of the guy in the van.

This is coming from a family member of the boy who was murdered... #1, not all of the facts are in the media and some of the stated "facts" are wrong...so before you speak ill of this kid, know what the hell you are speaking of first. #2, noone is saying that Lil Mike was perfect; but he did not deserve to get murdered and definitely not in the manner in which he was #3, He skipped school...and?! Not saying that it is right but what does that have to do w/the fact that he was murdered? Would it have been better if it happened AFTER school? #4, I was in attendance of the services and let me tell you that this was not "just another wanna be [insert adjective]" that was killed, absolutely nothing typical about this...as a matter of fact, there were prominent members of the school district in attendance as well as a completely filled church w/people standing in the hallways to mourn the loss of this boy #5, last and certainly not least...please be grateful and thankful that you have your children alive and well this morning (for those of you who do) and let my cousin's death be a reminder to us all that one bad decision can lead to tragedy and let's not take life for granted... ...God bless

Let us see what next week will bring us, I bet a new murder in Pine Bluff or a shooting in Little Rock followed by a drug deal in Jacksonville and a missing person in N Little Rock followed by a methhouse fire Jacksonville, and a rape in White County!

This is a terrible thing. If this had been a white man that run over, beat and killed this black kid it would have been another Travon Martin situation all over again. The kid did not deserve to die but he did steal the mans wallet. His family is saying this was a good kid. Stealing at 14 years old is not a way to start off!
