They should just shut the fair down completely if they are not going to make sure it is not safe for the public to even attend day or night!!!

We stopped going to the state fair cause of the area. Plus they need better location and roads for people hauling animals. Tired of not enough parking. Not paying home owners for parking. We will return to the state fair when it moves. As for rude people...... There will always be those rude ones.

I had a poem once that said "IT ISN'T THE TOWN, IT'S YOU"...that is what is wrong with the fair. IT ISN'T THE LOCATION, IT IS THE PEOPLE". The ill bred behavior of the crowd is the problem. If you move it, they will come. GOD SAVE AMERICA

Sadly, the last generation in our whole family to enjoy the fair was my children...The grandchildren and greatchildren do not get to go. Too many rude and rough people there. Maybe if they got a hundred or so security people to secure the neighborhood and the fairgrounds it would work. I don't see any sense in moving it...with the same people coming to "terrorize" the crowd. I WRITE TO ANY TOWN vying for the opportunity to host it and tell them they would regret pulling that crowd to their town. They would probably do more damage just by their presence than they would increase business. Any money spent would be at the fair.

Please move the state fair. I went yesterday on opening day at 1pm because I wanted to go when it was safe. While driving throught the neighborhood behind Children's Hospital, all I heard was my wife tell me how unsafte she felt. And I agree! We parked across the street and had to walk under the overpass to get to the main entrance. Look closely at that bridge. It is falling apart and does not appear to be safe for vehicle traffic. The concrete is crumbling and the exposed rebar is rusted!

Hey Shoptaw, It's broken and it needs fixing. I have an 8 y/o daughter and I would like to take her to the state fair at night so she can enjoy the lights. I took her last year at 10AM and as soon as the thugs with the bandanas started coming in and walking wide down the midway so that they brush into you, I left. By the way, all of the media goes silent while the fair is in town and does not report crimes at the fair or in the area because it is bad for business. Also, if you go to the fair at night don't park next to the fence on the east side because the thugs pole vault over the fence and land of the hoods of paying customers. Moving it to a safer place is long overdue.
