Has throwing money at education worked? Half of the seniors need remediation on entering college. Instead of our schools teaching the basics, they are involved in "common core" which teaches Russian Literature instead of how to master the grammar required to avoid remediation. If the teachers were allowed to teach instead of all the required BS they are subjected to, then maybe our kids would be able to do the work. Every politician is eager to make points by loading more and more paperwork on the backs of educators who are on the verge of becoming paper pushers instead of teachers. Give the kids a break and let them learn the basics and leave things like Russian, Spanish and Asian literature up to the higher education people.

Why is it the GOP ALWAYS cuts funding for education?
