Geyer Springs beating death

Little Rock Police officers found 22-year-old William Blundell dead in the street at the intersection of Geyer Springs and Young road just after 2 o'clock in the morning.
A man is found dead early Tuesday morning near an abandoned truck. Little Rock Police officers found 22-year-old William Blundell dead in the street at the intersection of Geyer Springs and Young road just after 2 o'clock in the morning.

Police say Blundell's body was near a 1985 Dodge pick up truck, but the truck is not registered to him. It's now being processed for clues.

Blundell's sister, Michelle Crutchfield, says she's hoping someone will come forward with information leading to the arrest in her brother's killing. "I did not expect to wake up this morning to find out my 22-year-old brother was brutally beaten."

Crutchfield says her brother, who she calls Bubba, was beaten and left for dead, and she's asking for help finding her brother's killer. "Someone knows something, somewhere, even if you were just driving by and you happened to see something. There's no way at 2:15 in the morning nobody was around."

Crutchfield says Bubba's death is especially hard on the family because they lost a cousin to murder three years ago that's still unsolved. She says her brother didn't have a physical address and stayed with friends or his 3-year-old son's mother. Crutchfield says he did not deserve to die this way. "He was young and had his whole life ahead of him."

She will always remember the good times they had together. "He was outgoing, energetic, and always up to something. He was mischievous."

Crutchfield says she'll always regret missing her one last opportunity to talk to him. "He messaged me 3 days ago on Facebook and I was so busy with my kids and handling other things that I never messaged him back."

While finding out what happened to Bubba won't bring him back, Crutchfield says finding answers is all she has left. "If we can get the word out there about my brother, I'm hoping and praying his killer will be brought to justice."

Crutchfield says her brother grew up in the Geyer Springs area and has gotten into trouble in the past, but she says she has no idea who would have wanted to kill her brother.

So far detectives have no leads on any possible suspects. Anyone with any information is asked to call Little Rock Police.
