LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The campaigns for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum have filed paperwork to appear on Arkansas' ballot for the Republican presidential primary.
Saline County Circuit Clerk and former state Republican Party Chairman Dennis Milligan filed the paperwork Thursday for Gingrich to appear on the May 22 primary ballot.
Santorum spokeswoman and former Mike Huckabee spokeswoman Alice Stewart filed for Santorum.
GOP presidential hopefuls must pay a $25,000 filing fee to the state party to appear on the ballot. Both Stewart and Milligan say their candidates will appeal to Arkansans.
