HARRISON, Ark. (AP) — A Harrison resident is jailed on charges in Wisconsin from a rape that was alleged in 1975.

Boone County Jail records showed 57-year-old Jimmy Dale Mulanex remained in jail Sunday following his arrest on Friday morning.

Officials say Mulanex is being held without bond pending extradition to Wisconsin. There was no indication whether Mulanex has an attorney.

Authorities in Wood County, Wisc., told the Harrison Daily Times that Mulanex had been a cross-country truck driver in 1975 and was arrested on the original charge in December of that year. However, records show he didn't show for a preliminary hearing.

Police records show the victim went to the Venture Inn in Wisconsin Rapids with friends to celebrate a birthday.

Mulanex allegedly threatened the woman and raped her at the motel.

Bench warrants used to have a statue of limitation of two years here. Thanks for the info though. I wasn't sure about their.

Butch, rape has a statue of limitation in both Arkansas and Wisconsin. However, this guy was originally charged with the rape and had a bench warrant for his arrest which does not have a statue of limitation. Seems like this guy may have changed his name/identity to avoid the arrest. IMO, this is the only feasible explanation for it taking 37 years to find him, especially in todays time where the government has the resources they do.

20 at the time. That's kind of young for an over the road trucker. Some crimes have no statue of limitations though. If guilty hang him good.

Either he hasnt been pulled over in 37 years or someone never put this in NCIC database.

37 years to track him down? I hate rapists; but I need to hear both sides of this story; something doesn't add up.
