LITTLE ROCK, AR – A hazardous outlook has been issued for a large part of Arkansas, according to the National Weather Service.

A new cold front will approach Arkansas from the Plans Saturday night. A head of the front, a line of showers and thunderstorms will build into Western Arkansas during the late evening. A few of the storms could be severe with strong to damaging winds the main concern.

After midnight, all will tend to weaken with the loss of daytime heating. As far as rainfall, parts of the Northwest could receive a half inch of rain with locally one to two inches. Much of the state is expected to receive a quarter to a half inch of rain with lesser amounts towards the Mississippi River.
