LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Department of Health says a case of measles has been confirmed in a West Memphis woman who has exposed residents in at least four cities.

Health officials said Thursday that the 52-year-old woman returned to Little Rock on May 14 from a 3-month visit to India. She first became ill with aches and fatigue on May 21 and developed a fever and a severe cough the next day.

Officials say the woman developed a full body rash on Friday, and was hospitalized at Vanderbilt Hospital in Tennessee the following day. A test to determine if she had measles came back positive.

Officials believe she was infectious from May 19 through Wednesday, during which time she visited relatives and ate in West Memphis, Proctor, Sheridan and White Hall.
