Heavy rain damages road in Drew Co

MONTICELLO, AR - A culvert washed out beneath Garnett Road about a mile north of Monticello Sunday morning.

According to Joe Burgess with MonticelloLive.com, a truck drove over the washout and then slid into the ditch because of the damage caused to the rear end of the truck.

Burgess says a car then drove into the hole caused by the wash out.

Neither driver was injured.

County Judge Robert Akin has closed Garnett Road until it can be repaired.
