If the young men had not been on someone elses property uninvited, there wouldn't have been a reason for the shooting. If you have a problem with someones actions or with something they are doing, go to the proper athorities, don't go on their property and try to take care of it yourself. Two wrongs usually ends up with a third wrong decision. Mr. staley cannot control where wild birds decide to land and rooste. I see no different in feeding ducks than I do feeding any other type wild birds.

Noone is disputing the fact what they were doin at this home was wrong but at the same time if he was so afraid for his safety and well being why leave your home and go outside were the threat is.First report is he seen the man by the window then on the steps which he states is a white man but it is a black man dead in a creek and another man being investiagted which happens to be black. Why did the police not find the body or the shell caseings if they did a permiter search.I beleive there is alot more to this story and the fact is there is a family hurting from a loss and they dont dispute the wrong they wanna know the truth and how many of us wouldnt want the same for our family member.

What business did these boys have tramping around on someone's property if their intentions were not theft or harm. Why did they run away if they if they weren't doing anything wrong? What right did they have taking a "shortcut" across private property. We need to teach our children to have respect. If you don't have the right to protect that which you have worked so hard for, then what rights do you have.

the law says to protect yourself. but I feel like if the man was running away from the house why would you shoot at them. they was not causing any harm to the famliy. but he dont know what they was doing they could have been taking a short cut or some thing. All he had to do was fire in the air. Its plain and simple they didnt have a gun if they were running. Use your head people.

this young man went onto private property to steel. kids are carrying guns and killing people everyday in this country. maybe he should sue them for not parenting their child.

he didn't know if that kid had a gun, kid's are shooting people on a regular basis now. its hard to say what the wrong or right thing to do is in a dangerous world. if this kid choose invade private property to steel, sounds like he choose the wrong victim.
