I'm waiting on this to hit the headlines. "Man sues police department for preventing him from taking his own life. Says his rights were violated."

It is a proven fact that people who threaten to kill themselves are yes seeking attention because they are seriously considering it and need help or they are asking for help. I know from personal experience that people who threaten and threaten do follow through with those threats. No where does it state that he was wanted by police or had charges pending and you know the media would have jumped on that. I believe instead of judging we need to keep the man and his family in our prayers. Obviously the man needs prayer and I am sure his family is in pain.

no insurance payout for suicide - unless it's suicide by cop.

If someone was seriously pondering killing themself, they would not make it a statement to anyone, they would just go and do it. The majority of these people are either trying to get attention or trying to avoid prosecution by claiming they are "mentally ill."
