HOT SPRINGS, AR - Three Hot Springs men were sentenced to prison for their roles in a 2010 pharmacy robbery.

According to reports, 37-year-old Detric Conway, 41-year-old Richard Johnson, and 34-year-old Corey Kidd were sentenced for their roles in the armed robbery of Hometown Pharmacy in Hot Springs on July 13, 2010. Conway was also sentenced for the robbery of Phil's Pharmacy in Glenwood, Arkansas in June 2010.

Conway was sentenced to 36 years in prison, Johnson was sentenced to 32 years in prison; and Kidd was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

All three of men have two weeks to file an appeal. In addition to prison time, the judge sentenced each defendant to pay restitution for the robberies. That will cost more than $20,000 each.

I do love a good success story. Nice to hear about the big bite also. Kudos to you Butch for beating it. My young black friend has turned his life around also; he only needed that one "young and dumb" mistake to realize it was time to grow up. No one died, no one was hurt; he did his couple of years, and is a contributing member of society now. Wish we could hear more success stories like yours and his as opposed to all the bad news like these 3 guys all the time.

They still got some work release units but the escapees are working on closing those. But the work is paid for by others not ADC. I took a little rehab down there. A two year in house rehab that I could not afford on the street. Off them pain pills though. No I don't hang with the same people anymore. Saved me a life sentence in a federal unit. My old partner is doing life. He couldn't stop. So you see it did get a big bite.

Butch; that's state and not Federal, right? Had a brother-in-law that spent a couple of years in Federal, before I met him; my understanding was he made dough building furniture. Have a methbilly that lives with an in law; he was on work release until he got caught smoking a butt at Benton, was making good money until he decided to have a cigarette. And some do have friends; I sent the methbilly some things on that Christmas deal they have. I also had a young black friend that did something stupid to land him a couple of years, and sent him something for Christmas also. I also sent both of them a little dough a couple of times. Sad about your "friends" though. I'm assuming you don't associate with them any longer. Maybe Karma will come around and bite them in the a**!

Hate to tell you protecter but ADC has no pay scale for any job an inmate preforms. Their probably not going to ever do that in this state. The only way for inmates to get money on the books is through family or friends. When you get locked up that means family, you have no friends. Even the ones you didn't take with you desert you. The only relief for those with nothing is called indigent. They give you stamps, toothpaste, and a few other necessities needed for personal care. Something like about 12 dollars of stuff every 30 days.

I think the kitchen at Varner prison only pays 10 cents an hour.
