SHANNON HILLS, AR – Several fire departments responded to a house fire burning on Dublin Road Wednesday night in Shannon Hills.

Neighbors say around 8pm they heard loud booms and pops, went outside, and saw the home fully engulfed. Shannon Hills Police say the fire started in a dumpster sitting next to the house. Police say the explosions neighbors heard were aerosol cans exploding in the dumpster.

There were no immediate reports of injuries related to the fire. It appears as if the home is a total loss.

Crews from the Shannon Hills Fire Department, Arch Street Fire Department, and Northeast Saline County Volunteer Fire Department fought the fire. Shannon Hills Police helped by blocking off nearby roads while crews fought the flames.

The family who lives in the house is receiving help from the Red Cross. The homeowner says the tenants were renovating the home, which is why there was a dumpster in the driveway. The fire destroyed a car, the garage, and most of the house.

This isnt the first time they were burning something and had areosol cans explode. A few months back I was riding with one of their Police officers in a ride along when him and I heard what sounded like gunshots (shotgun) shots go off....when three polices officers responded...it was that they were burning stuff and had areosol cans...and now the house burns down.... isnt there a burn ban in effect?

Rebaldance1-I did see this story last night & my 1st thought was how tragic this was that someone has lost their home & all of the memories in it. My condolences to you for the loss of your grandparents. That in itself is very hard to deal with. I lost my grandmother 2 yrs ago. Also, the thought of losing something that has been a part of your life is even more difficult. My prayers are with you & your family and hopefully you can salvage something from this loss. I pray that God will guide your family to be able to build a new home and it be done as quickly as possible. I do think it is disrespectful when people assume before they know what really happened. You are right, this is a personal matter and not for us to ask what happened or who did what. Good luck to your family!

This is the problem with a private matter being released to the public. My family are the ones who lost this home and this was also my great grandparents home while they were alive. They weren't just "tenants " living in this home it wa family. Nobody was stainîng anything the dumpster was there because we were throwing things away from my grandparents passing away. I am very upset with the fact that cameras were shoved in our faces at such a tragic time I feel that was very disrespectful. But obviously some people have never experienced anything like this. Which is my problem with such a private and tragic experience being aired to the rude and unsympathetic public. I pray nothing ever happens so tragically to any of your families.

tired, they probably can technically afford their own home but thanks to the freddie & Fanny and the fed govt lending mortgages that went out to welfarer's, low income earners and all the other charity cases who costs us trillions, it's nearly impossible to get financed unless, 1: you have the amount of your mortgage payment in your bank account for at least a year(who has an extra $700-$1k laying around constantly, without ever dipping into it on occasion? Not the average America..Also I think you have to be 3 yrs at the same job(many people have been laid off lately), then you have gov't mandated closing costs that must be paid in full..It's nothing but a hassle. That's why I'm working on building my own house right now. It may take 5 yrs but it'll be well worth it.

I wonder if they were staining something? If you throw a bunch of staining rags into a pile they have been known to spontaneously combust.
