I say to anyone that breeds dogs for money, you are the same as a puppy mill. No matter if the doghouse is nice or not. Most cases they are not. Why breed more animals when they are so many out there that are unwanted!!! It just makes me sick. My animals have been from the pound or recued. I would not ever pay for one.

mignon45- I agree with you 100% and hope that people will write their congress and senator and bring this to light. Pushing them to ban puppy mills in Arkansas, make this a law. Animals can’t defend themselves and need us to speak for them. People that are cruel to animals are cruel to people too. Just look at crime and how it begins. This is morally wrong and for all those people that protect them, shame on you.

I had a aunt that raised small dogs in AR. They had their own house that looked just like hers. It was built to hold 40 dogs. They had their own stalls and door to go in and out. It was all tile on floors and walls. She had a contract with a Vet. and a large pet store chain. She made lots of money. The dogs were all in perfect health and currant on all shots and everything else they needed. Having a large kennel for breeding is not wrong. It in the care they get that makes the wrong. She never breed one over twice and then they were sold at reduced price or free to a good home. She used to sit in the yard with all of them around her playing. She knew everyone of them on site. I did the same with English Bulldogs. Although I never had over 5. They called the police on me one time and they came out. I wasn't home. My neighbor told them if he died he hoped he came back as a dog in our care. Raising puppies is not wrong as long as you do it right. People that act like this woman give all people raising puppies a bad name. It's like dope. the money is addictive if your not careful. Then you get overwhelmed. Money. Four bulldogs with a litter a year at 500 a puppy. About 25% in feed and upkeep. Do the math. Nice little amount for retirement.

This is sick. I hope she serves a lot of time. I won't buy from pet shops at all. I have two dogs, the first from a pound, the second was a stray. My first one I specifically went to the pound looking for an adult dog with medical problems. Adult dogs do not get adopted as much as puppies do, and not many people want a dog who has medical problems. I found the perfect dog that fit this description, paid $35.00 for him, paid a few hundred for his medical needs... and voila! Two happy dogs, and they never leave my side. They are always there no matter what. Adopt from pounds and shut those puppy mill/pet shops down. That woman is gross... let her sit with fleas in a cage and see what happens.

I was allowed the privilege of appearing in Small Claims Court last summer. In January, I purchased a papered, guaranteed “purebred” Pomeranian puppy from Pam & Ray Thomas dba Rainbow Kennels, off Mtn. Pine Road. In March, it became evident that he was not full-blooded Pomeranian. I was unable to reach an equitable arrangement with the sellers, so I filed a Complaint in Small Claims Court. After paying $350 for a “Poodle, Collie, Sheepdog mix” breed according to the DNA test results that were ran at a cost of $79.95, paying a $68.00 Court filing fee and $100, ($50.00 each) for the Sheriff’s office to serve the Complaint to each Defendant, I was ready for my day in Court. The Court Justice announced without any testimony, the Court would save some time and that it had been decided that I could return the puppy for the $350 or keep It with no adjustment. This without any testimony. Is this a fair and just day in Court? What about the fact that I made a commitment to this creature when I took him home, integrated him and made him a member of our family, loved him for eight months, fed, housed and paid for his shots and worming bills? Or, that Mrs. Thomas, (who did not bother to show up for court, said that; “she would destroy him if she could not sell him as a “designer” puppy. With this ruling, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas, were given a legal seal of approval to cheat buyers. My advice; don’t buy from the Thomas’ or Rainbow Kennel, adopt a puppy from Animal Control, Paws-N-Claws or other reputable organization for $35 to $50, which includes neutering or spaying. Or if you can’t resist that cute little face, you will be allowed to lay out your hard earned money for something you didn’t receive, pay to prove without a doubt why you were wronged, pay the costs for filing and service fees, attend the hearing and save the court some time. Oh, I would be allowed to appeal the decision, but who am I kidding; next time I may get the janitor or gardener instead. On second thought,

I just wish this would happen all over the US. This goes on more than people know and usually nothing is done for years.

Arkansas needs to pass a law similar to the one passed in Missouri, banning puppy mills. These breeders are cruel to these animals. I have personally rescued one dog who sleeps sitting up as a result of living his life in a very small cage. The public can help by coming forward and filing complaints with their local sheriff's office.This is the first step required to rescue these sweet animals from their cruel owners. Prison would be ideal for these dispicable humans, but I truly believe they will be held accountable on that Great Judgement Day. When God put Man over the animals and creatures of the Earth, I am certain He expected the best treatment for them. People always immediately ask, "How can people to this to animals?" Some people are sub-human, even to the point of throwing newborn human babies in the trash. Also encourage your State Representative to write a bill to ban puppy mills in this state.

I'm glad that Arkansas allows felonies. But in my personal opinion she deserves more than 3 felonies seeing how 300 (found the count on a diff news site) dogs were rescued from her shelter. Also, if she'd been charged before for the same exact thing why was she even allowed pets? Personally, I believe abuse is abuse it doesn't matter if it's human or animal it should be the same amount of time.

How can people to this to Gods creatures? I agree with the other comment. They should be treated the same way. So what's going to happen to these people? Get their hands slapped? Maybe a small fine? They will do the same thing as before when they are released. Nothing ever changes. They need to do some jail/prison time.
