LITTLE ROCK, AR - You remember planking, right? The Youtube sensation of a few months ago where people would lie flat on some sort of object and film it? Well, kids say there is a new planking -- it's called coning.
"There's really no point to it," said High School Student Hannah Venpelt, "but it's funny."
Here's how coning works: first you go through a drive-thru, like a McDonalds, and order an ice cream cone.
"I'll just take one vanilla ice cream cone," said one coner in a video he posted on Youtube.
After ordering, you pay.
"That's gonna be a-dollar-40," said the unsuspecting McDonald's employee in the Youtube clip.
Then comes the coning. Instead of grabbing the ice cream by the cone, coners grab it by the ice cream.
High-school student Madison Reeves knows what it's liked to be coned. She used to work at a fast food restaurant.
"I was just like, really? I was like, seriously? How childish," she recalled.
To be clear, there's nothing illegal about coning. Coners pay for the ice cream first, then they cone. Really what they're left with is a mess.
"It makes a total mess because it drips everywhere," said Casey Harris, another high school student who knows all about coning. Soon, you might too. Afterall, kids say it's the new planking.
