JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A dump truck loaded with pea-sized gravel careened off a highway overpass Thursday and crushed at least two cars below. State police said one person was dead and another driver might have been buried.

"They do hear voices underneath the pea gravel and they're trying to devote their efforts to getting their pea gravel out of that vehicle to extricate any persons who may still be alive in that second vehicle," state police spokesman Bill Sadler said.

The truck was traveling on U.S. 67-167, a major commuter corridor just northeast of Little Rock. The accident occurred at its exit with Jacksonville's Main Street.

I was about 6 cars from the accident and saw the dump truck go off the overpass, then a huge cloud of dust.
