Jefferson County constable arrested on rape charges

The Melton Township constable was arrested Thursday on rape charges. The charges stem from an alleged incident that happened 16 years ago with a then 11-year-old boy.

Constables are outdated. Plenty of other ways for men and women that want to get into law enforcement. Cochise Community College in Cochise County, AZ had a very good curriculum for a degree in Law Enforcement. The military is another place to get real life experience; MP's, SP's, and whatever the other branches call them. There are also academy's run by local cities and police departments. And since when does getting elected keep one honest! That's a hoot! I could research dishonest elected officials all day long, and write about it all day long tomorrow! itsjustme is right about the meals also.

Do you know why most restaurants dont charge cops for their meals? Its a courtesy from the business owner to the officers for what they do day in and day out. Several times I have been out eating and there would be a cop or 2 in there as well. Just as they get started eating, they get dispatched on a call, have to rush out without finishing their meal. Is it fair to make them pay for food they could not eat?

Constables are elected so at least we have a method to keep them honest, plenty of other LEOs have been caught screwing up too, lets not forget that. The Constable position is about the only way an honest person can get any LE experience anymore, most departments are so corrupt they don't want to hire anyone that might rock the boat. Like all the PD that are eating for free at your local restaurant, a real ethical bunch, not!

What amazes me is the number of these "rapes" that are popping up after 10, 15 plus years. I agree with Yankee, if he did it, fry his sorry ass.

Wannabe cop been to the donut shop too many times! If he is guilty, I guess that means he likes little boys. Reckon he'll have to settle for big boys in the pen. With state, county, and local LEO's; why the need for constables?
