LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A federal judge has sentenced two men involved in a massive drug ring in eastern Arkansas to prison.

Sedrick "Binky" Trice was sentenced to 40 years and Dempsey Word received a prison term of more than 16 years on Wednesday.

Trice pleaded guilty last year to a drug charge and a firearms charge. Prosecutors agreed to drop the rest of the charges against him in exchange for a proposed 40-year prison sentence.

Word meanwhile pleaded guilty to a drug trafficking charge in January.

Both men were indicted in a drug and corruption investigation dubbed "Operation Delta Blues."

The investigation centered on Helena-West Helena and also netted law enforcement officers. Federal prosecutors say more than a dozen people have entered guilty pleas in the case so far.

Now I want you to notice how your justice system works. A criminal is a criminal. Although if your start out as a cop and go dirty the penalty isn't near as hard. Look at the wide gap in the sentencing and tell me I am wrong. The police should have not got off light. They should have received the harder sentence. They are the ones that broke the trust in the system.
