I just hope the judge's ruling addressed the strangle-hold the teachers union, PACT, has over the PCSSD. And, the millions of dollars, time and resources they have cost the district.

I am glad to see the State take this position! Money management is key here, that is a lot of money and much of it was not accounted for during the audits last year! We have been hearing in the news how financially strapped many states are already and with no sign of relief in sight many programs need to be revaluated and if they are not producing any positive results, it calls for change. It's time EVERYBODY take a long look at how we are spending our own money and "cut the fat" ourselves, this will in turn be one of the most valuable lessons for our children as they face new challenges that we did not have when we were growing up.

finally someone with the sense to know you can spend money to the moon and back on special programs but if the kids and families don't care or want to learn there is no amount of money spent to change that. I spend many hours volunteering at PCSSD and LRSD schools--and it's appaling how many kids just don't care about their education--or have the family support to inspire education...
