JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — A judge has scheduled a July 16 trial for a man accused by prosecutors in an alleged murder-for-hire plot in the death of Jonesboro businessman.

Terrance Odell Barker is one of three men charged with capital murder in the August shooting death of Marc Evan Despain. Prosecutors claim Barker was hired by Despain's father-in-law and another man to kill Despain.

All three men face the death penalty if convicted of capital murder. The Jonesboro Sun reports that trials were set for Sept. 10 for the other two defendants, Carl Kelley and Johnny Hubbard.

All three have pleaded not guilty.

Marc Despain's wife, Michelle, reported finding her husband's body in their home on Aug. 24.

The Despains owned a company that managed several rental properties in Craighead and Greene counties.
