BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A Benton County jury has recommended two consecutive terms of life in prison without parole for a man accused in the 2009 deaths of two Bentonville women.

The panel made the decision Tuesday in the case of Michael Winters, who was convicted last week of two counts of capital murder in the killings of 81-year-old Louise Bishop and her 40-year-old daughter, Christina Bishop. Prosecutors were seeking the death penalty.

According to the Benton County Daily Record, authorities allege Winters and co-defendant, Nicholas Johansen, went to Louise Bishop's home the day the women vanished. The women were robbed, and their bodies were buried at another location.

Winters' attorney, Drew Ledbetter, says Winters is grateful for the jury's recommendation.

A January trial is scheduled for Johansen, who is Christina Bishop's son.

Dear Santa, Please bring our justice system some balls for Christmas. They have never had any and their are a lot of innocent people suffering because of their lack of having a set. This small gift would help make our world a better place and help keep these violent people off of our streets and keep them from hurting other innocent people.

You know protector I just couldn't see him being anything but happy with it. I've never heard of anyone being happy with a death sentence. My point is who really cares if the perp is happy. I'd really like to see him disappointed.

I am glad Mr. Winters is very grateful for the recommendation that he's not going to get a shot of poison up his arm. I am sure the families of the victims are VERY pleased.
